- Gambling is a very serious addiction and I recommend that you stay with Gamblers Anonymous ... if you get displeased with the group that you attend, find another, but don't leave the first one till you find a second with which you feel compatible. Cut expenses to the backbone - getting out a deep hole dug with credit cards is extremely difficult, due to the interest rates being so high. Probably call the credit card carriers, if you are a fast thinker and can keep your cool, plus can for sure follow through on whatever deal that you agree to with them. Or else have a friend with those capabilities call on your behalf. You earnestly want to fulfill your obligations, but have been advised to consider bankruptcy (in which case the credit card people will probably get nothing), so they may be willing to cut interest rates, fees, etc. But don't promise something that you can't fulfill in full. Express appreciation to your wife frequently for sticking by you through this. Plus ... absolutely ***no*** gambling, of any kind. If you were in the Niagara River above the Falls and someone threw you a rope, no way you'd let go. I'm sorry that this sounds so harsh. Good wishes for success in this new adventure. old joyful
