How would one go about to cure a severe gambling problem?

An uncontrollable gambling problem. I want to hear from anyone with experience in this situation. A 50 year old womans life and her adolescent children are affected. She is stealing money from friends and loved ones.

1. that person has to exclude immediately, if they have a strong tendency to continue gambling, they must seek counseling from the services the gaming institution offers, if they are in denial about it, make sure you do what I just said cause denial is part of their addiction, the amount of money they can owe can snowball into the hundreds of thousands
