Green Gambling

what percentage of people who go to gamblers anonymous are winners that want to stop?

Public Comments

  1. 0.0% People that go to G.A go because they have lost everything, while professional gamblers have no reason to stop...they win more than they lose!
  2. I hardly think there is any accurate way to take a percentage of this, though I would have to expect it is quite low. The comment by James is one that I absolutely have to disagree with. I know two gamblers who went to GA meetings looking for help with stopping even though they were winning. Money is hardly the only area of your life that gambling can hurt. When you miss family events and one-time events in the life of children because you are gambling, it has gone well beyond just a matter of money. Gamblers who win can need help too. If you are a winner, it could be argued that it is even harder to stop.
  3. It sure is i have never rang G.A cause i have had some big wins also losses but i would say i have won more than lost but i lie to my girlfriend and family were i am going just so i can play poker/roulette
  4. I'd have to agree with Minky - someone who wins but spends all their spare time gambling to the exclusion of other things like family may have less problems than one who's lost big-time, but they have problems all the same. I'm sure some of them (tho probably a small number) eventually recognize this and seek help.
